Preparing Your Cacao

‘A few minutes, a few ingredients, then make it your own.’

Two ways to make it

Choose the one that works for you.

Take your time on the stovetop, or make it straight in your cup when you want something faster.

Method 1 · Slow

On the stovetop

The classic method when you want to take your time and get a smooth, creamy texture.

01

Measure

Animistā cacao comes pre-grated and ready to use. Start with about 14 g per person, then simply adjust to your taste and the intensity you want.

02

Add the water

Add the cacao to a small saucepan with cold or warm water. Stir for a few seconds before heating so it already starts to blend in smoothly.

03

Heat Gently

Heat gently while stirring. No need to boil it: once the cacao has melted and the texture is smooth, it’s ready.

04

Customize

Add what you like: cinnamon, cardamom, cayenne, clove or vanilla. Then a little maple syrup, honey or date if you want it sweeter.

05

Take the moment

Before the first sip, slow down for a few seconds. Breathe, taste, then enjoy it however you like — with or without a particular intention.

Method 2 · Quick

Straight in the cup

The quick version: one cup, boiling water and a small electric whisk.

01

Everything in the cup

Add the pre-grated cacao, your spices and sweetener directly to the cup.

02

Add boiling water

Pour freshly boiled water over the mixture, then whisk immediately.

03

Whisk

Blend with a small electric whisk or milk frother until smooth and lightly foamy.
